Lupton Street, London NW5

Our Scandinavian client had had enough of a tatty and awkward conservatory at the back of her Tufnell Park home. The room was cold and unloved; our task was to remodel the back of the house to make it beautiful, functional and warm! Our client brought a strong willed sense of aesthetics to the table and we worked closely with her throughout the design process.

A restrained contemporary addition is introduced to a traditional English setting of mature roses and London stock brick. Modern construction methods allowed a high standard of accommodation that could be generously and naturally lit. The garden is brought right into the house with the careful positioning of full height sliding doors, and discrete skylights illuminate culinary endeavours in the new kitchen. Our client was delighted with our work: the kitchen functions as well as it looks; and a formerly underused space in the house has now become the centre of family life.
