This retrofit project transforms a poorly subdivided, semi-detached 4-storey Victorian villa into a sustainable and flexible home for our client, shaped around her passions for food, music, and gardening. Delivered through a two-phase masterplan, the project redivided the units and carefully sequenced the works to meet her living brief whilst ensuring long-term sustainability.
We upgraded her upper maisonette including air-source heating for the building alongside a solar array for her to move into while the lower maisonette was being modernised. Avoiding large-scale demolition or extension in the garden maisonette, we reworked the internal layout investing in deep retrofit and upgrade, reduced energy use. We created bright, joyful modern space that celebrates its architectural heritage and that she successfully uses for salon concerts and externally for a community gardening project.
